With so many hospitals in financial trouble in the States, it is difficult to picture many of them implementing new computer solutions. I did clinicals at many of the big hospitals in my area and they are struggling to simply use the systems they already have, and all they do is replace paper charting with computer charting (and sometimes allow you access to an xray or CT).
